Fall Vacancy List - Secondary - External Posting

Eligibility:
This Secondary Contract posting is intended for Continuing Education, Home Instruction, Secondary Occasional Teachers, and External Applicants.

NOTE for part-time contract teachers: current contract teachers must apply to the internal posting in order to be considered with other contract teachers. The internal posting has a different ApplytoEducation job number.

Cont. Ed., Home Instruction and other applicants can apply and be considered for any portion of the vacancy for which they are qualified.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers and possess the following:

Transportation Technology

OCT Additional Qualifications considered an asset:

Additional Requirements (experience, knowledge, education) for the Position:

Certification as a automotive technician or equivalent and Certification in good standing with Ontario Skilled Trades

Experience working and operating an auto shop.

Order of Consideration:
Applications will be assessed according to the requirements and OCT qualifications outlined in this job posting, and in accordance with Policy P.146.HR Equitable Recruitment, Hiring and Promotion.





Consideration will be given to applicants in the following order:

1. OCDSB Continuing Education and Home Instruction Teachers

Where no Secondary Contract teacher is hired for a contract vacancy, the consideration moves to current OCDSB Continuing Education and Home Instruction teachers covered by the Teacher Bargaining Unit Collective Agreement.

2. OCDSB Secondary Occasional Teachers and other External Candidates

A minimum of 3 qualified applicants will be offered an interview; and,

If fewer than three (3) applicants apply, all qualified applicants will be interviewed.

Qualified external candidates will be screened based on the requirements identified in this posting and shortlisted applicants will be assessed via an interview process.

As a condition of employment with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, the successful external candidate will be required to submit a "Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check" (criminal record check) prior to the commencement of any employment duties.

Occasional teachers should apply for any portion of a job posting for which they are qualified, as it is possible that a portion of a contract vacancy remains available after the consideration/hire of internal candidates.
