- elementary teaching experience;
- strong classroom management skills;
- academic training, qualifications and recent successful experience teaching elementary level Applied Design Skills and Tech;
- the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies;
- strong interpersonal, communication, and team-oriented skills to communicate with students, staff, and parents in a team oriented approach to teaching and learning;
- understanding of evidence based literacy assessments and strategies;




- strong formative assessment practices;
- experience with RTI (Response to Intervention) systems;
- ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning;
- strong interest in innovation and inquiry; and
- ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices.

The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $71,425 to $119,497, with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

- Remote Recruitment and Retention allowance is available for SD85 teachers payable at $3,500 over ten months.
