The Legal Services Department is seeking a full time Legal Counsel – Solicitor to protect and advance the city's legal interests. This role requires expertise in municipal and tax law, planning, environmental law, and real estate matters. You will ensure compliance with regulations while enabling informed decision-making within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice across municipal practice areas
• Support City actions, policies, and agreements
• Safeguard legal interests in corporate governance
• Coordinate with outside legal counsel as needed




• Prepare and interpret corporate documents and by-laws

Requirements:
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)
• Licensed member in good standing with Law Society of Ontario
• Minimum five years of municipal law experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of various legal areas
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
