Job Description
We are seeking a Python Automation Developer with approximately 5+ years of experience who brings a strong software development background along with practical systems administration and hardware knowledge.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer first.
They must be able to independently write, troubleshoot, and maintain Python code used to automate infrastructure and system administration activities.
Experience coding and developing automation in Ansible is a major advantage.
Deep Cisco expertise is not required.
Candidates who have a strong automation foundation and can learn the Cisco environment will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based automation solutions
Write hands-on Python code to automate infrastructure and system administration tasks
Develop reusable scripts, tools, and automation frameworks
Automate manual processes across physical infrastructure and server environments
Work with Ansible to build and maintain automation where applicable
Troubleshoot automation, scripting, operating system, and infrastructure issues
Work with physical server hardware and understand basic infrastructure components
Support automation involving Dell and HP/HPE server environments
Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to identify processes that can be automated
Maintain clean, scalable, and supportable automation code
Must-Have Qualifications
5+ years of relevant development/automation experience
Strong hands-on Python development experience
Ability to write Python code independently, rather than only maintaining or modifying existing scripts
Strong background building automation solutions
Previous systems administration / infrastructure experience
Understanding of physical server infrastructure and hardware
Familiarity with Dell and/or HP/HPE servers
Understanding of operating systems, servers, and general infrastructure concepts
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong Plus
Hands-on Ansible development
Experience actually writing Ansible playbooks and automation, not simply running existing playbooks
Infrastructure automation experience
Git / source control
Linux or Windows systems administration experience
Exposure to Cisco environments
