DISPATCHER :
We are currently looking for an experienced and highly organized Truck Dispatcher to join our logistics operation.
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position, 5 days per week. The work schedule may vary depending on operational requirements. Your regular schedule could be Saturday to Wednesday, Tuesday to Saturday, or another 5-day rotation.
Most shifts will be overnight, although daytime shifts may also be required depending on workload and operational needs.
Responsibilities
This is a demanding, hands-on operational position. The dispatcher will be responsible for keeping drivers, trucks, maintenance requirements, and daily transportation operations organized and moving.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Monitoring and coordinating drivers throughout their shifts.
2. Keeping constant communication with drivers regarding runs, delays, problems, breakdowns, absences, and operational changes.
3. Monitoring which drivers are present, absent, sick, or unavailable.
4. Finding and coordinating replacement drivers whenever required.
5. Organizing and adjusting driver runs to maintain the most efficient operation possible.
6. Reacting immediately when a driver calls in sick or when an unexpected operational problem occurs.
7. Tracking trucks and ensuring required SAAQ inspections and other mandatory vehicle inspections are completed on time.
8. Maintaining an accurate schedule of upcoming truck inspections and maintenance requirements.
9. Being physically present when required during inspections and following the process from beginning to completion.
10. Following up directly with mechanics and garages to ensure required repairs and inspections are completed.
11. Keeping track of trucks that are unavailable because of mechanical problems and coordinating replacements when necessary.
12.
Following up on mechanical issues until the truck is operational again.
13. Constantly reorganizing the operation when trucks, drivers, or scheduled runs become unavailable.
14. Handling multiple problems simultaneously while maintaining communication with drivers, mechanics, management, and customers.
15. Maintaining accurate operational records and ensuring that nothing related to drivers, trucks, inspections, or scheduled work is forgotten.
What We Are Looking For :
This position requires someone who can work under pressure and independently.
You must be comfortable dealing with changing schedules, overnight operations, driver absences, mechanical problems, inspections, last-minute replacements, and multiple issues happening at the same time.
You need to be extremely organized and able to prioritize problems quickly. If one driver is absent, one truck is in the garage, another truck requires an inspection, and several drivers are calling at the same time, you are expected to organize the situation and keep the operation running.
This is not a simple desk job and not a position where you simply answer phones and assign a few loads.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the operation, follows problems until they are completely resolved, and understands that transportation does not always operate according to a perfect schedule.
Position: Dispatcher
Employment: Full-time
Hours: 40 hours guaranteed per week
Schedule: 5 days per week – schedule may vary

If you are organized, reliable, comfortable under pressure, and capable of managing a quick-moving trucking operation, we would like to hear from you.
Pay: $23.25-$33.98 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
Work Location: In person
