Centre Director – Sylvan Learning Brandon

Location: Brandon, MB

Hours: Full-time, generally 12:00–8:00 PM weekdays [+ some Saturdays]

Start: ASAP / early November

About the role

We're a locally owned Sylvan Learning centre helping K–12 students build skills, confidence and better grades. We're looking for a driven, organized leader to run the day-to-day of our centre and grow with it. This isn't just a management job. What you'll do

Centre operations

- Run the centre day to day, open to close
- Build and manage daily student and tutor schedules, and reschedule with families as needed
- Keep student records, attendance and enrollment systems up to date
- Maintain CRM, POS and QuickBooks systems
- Follow Sylvan policies, procedures and brand standards

Funding & admin

- Prepare and track funded-tutoring paperwork
- Track invoices, payments and fee collection, and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Monitor revenue, expenses and centre performance, and recommend improvements

Students & families

- Give initial assessments to new students and review results with guardians
- Lead consultations, enrollment conferences and progress conferences
- Answer calls, emails and walk-in inquiries promptly and professionally
- Keep families enrolled and happy through every stage of their program

Sales & marketing

- Turn inquiries into enrollments, following up on every lead
- Meet enrollment and revenue targets
- Plan and carry out local marketing: social media, community events, school outreach
- Build relationships with schools, teachers, First Nations education contacts and community organizations





People & HR

- Recruit, hire, onboard and train tutors and staff
- Coach staff, run performance reviews and handle staff scheduling
- Handle HR items like time tracking, payroll inputs, documents and staff concerns
- Pass corporate and franchise updates on to the team

Teaching support

- Make sure the curriculum is delivered as designed and lesson plans and materials are ready
- Step in to teach small groups (3:1) when needed

What you bring

- 2+ years in management, sales, retail, banking or education leadership
- Proven sales or customer-service results, and comfort with consultative selling to parents
- Strong organization and admin skills, and comfort with CRMs, spreadsheets and paperwork
- Experience with government or agency funding paperwork is a strong asset
- Teaching or tutoring background is an asset
- Self-starter who takes ownership, because you'll be running the centre
- Clear criminal record check and Manitoba Child Abuse Registry check
- Valid driver's license and vehicle are an asset

Pay: $40,000.00-$161,000.00 per year
