Wonderful Beginnings Early Learning Centre is looking for a full time Early Childhood Educator.

Position: Early Childhood Educator

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Education Requirements:

- Completion of a recognized Early Childhood Education (ECE) program that qualifies the applicant for an ECE Certificate in British Columbia.

Job Requirements:

- A valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate issued by the B.C. ECE Registry.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience working with young children is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Positive and professional attitude.
- Good character and professional references required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
- Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members




- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- May plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours

Wage:

$29.00 per hour (includes the government’s wage enhancement)

Work hours:

35-40 hours per week, excluding unpaid meal breaks.

*Scheduling may vary depending on operational needs. Overtime, if applicable, will be paid in

accordance with the British Columbia Employment Standards Act.

Vacation and benefits:

4% vacation pay
