Job Overview
Position Summary: The Warehouse & Inventory Manager is a strategic and highly technical leadership role responsible for the end-to-end material flow, from receiving and inventory holding to production staging and final shipping. This role requires a systems-level thinker with a deep understanding of MRP/ERP architectures, data analytics, and industrial engineering principles. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between technical engineering data and physical supply chain execution, utilizing advanced systems to optimize inventory levels, manage complex multi-level BOMs, and drive continuous improvement across all material handling workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical process owner for the MRP ecosystem (Infor CSI), ensuring robust data architecture, correct routing logic, and 100% transaction integrity from receiving to shipping.
- Develop automated inventory dashboards and KPI reporting models to track turnover rates, manage negative inventory, and monitor cycle counting, purchasing, and fabrication triggers.
- Lead the technical resolution of complex BOM discrepancies by analyzing multi-level BOM structures and system parameters to ensure perfect alignment between the ERP system and the physical shop floor by thoroughly understanding precise part utilization.
- Establish a seamless technical feedback loop with the Engineering department to manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), part revisions, and update BOMs with material or operational adjustments.
- Interpret technical manufacturing drawings and schematics to validate sub-assembly kitting logic and correct part discrepancies at the source before they impact production.
- Apply 5S principles and technical methodologies to systematically optimize stockroom layouts, establish strictly designated storage zones,
minimize material handling times, and eliminate shipping and packing bottlenecks.
- Design and deploy advanced warehouse management processes, such as digital routing, barcode scanning protocols, or automated data collection, to accelerate receiving times and eliminate manual entry delays.
- Drive rigorous root cause analysis for negative inventory balances and system discrepancies, addressing fundamental system flaws and transaction sequencing rather than applying surface-level corrections.
- Define clear, metrics-driven roles and responsibilities for the stockroom, receiving, and shipping teams, elevating the standard of technical execution and accountability.
- Provide technical training to stockroom personnel on proper ERP navigation, accurate cycle-count methodologies, and the impact of transaction sequencing on overall company financials.
- Map and optimize the interconnected workflows across Engineering, Purchasing, Fabrication, Welding, and Electrical assembly to ensure material processes seamlessly support production efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience with deep technical expertise in MRP/ERP and inventory control within a complex manufacturing workplace.
- Strong ability to read engineering drawings and deeply understand complex, multi-level manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Demonstrated experience applying continuous improvement methodologies to physical warehouse flows.
- Exceptional cross-functional communication skills to effectively translate operational constraints to the Engineering team and technical requirements to the floor staff.
Benefits:
- On-site parking
- Paid time off
- RRSP match
Work Location: In person
