Our client is a Southern Ontario transportation and logistics company based in Oakville, specializing in cross-border freight transportation into the United States. We are looking for experienced and safety-conscious AZ Truck Drivers for US Southeast and Midwest routes.

Job Responsibilities

- Safely operate a tractor-trailer on cross-border routes throughout the United States.
- Transport freight to destinations in the US Southeast and Midwest.
- Complete border crossings and ensure all customs documentation is accurate.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain accurate driver logs and comply with hours-of-service regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding deliveries, delays, and route updates.
- Ensure timely pickups and deliveries while following company safety procedures.
- Secure loads properly and follow all applicable transportation regulations.

Requirements

- Valid Ontario AZ driver's licence.
- Minimum 2 years of commercial truck driving experience, including cross-border driving.
- Clean and recent driver's abstract.
- Canadian passport.
- FAST card is an asset.
- Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Work permit holders are not eligible.
- Permanent residents must have a valid B1/B2 US visa to be considered.
- Strong knowledge of transportation safety procedures and cross-border requirements.
- Reliable, skilled, and committed to safe driving practices.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation depends on the type of assignment and applicable company policies.

- Local hourly rate: $24.00/hour, all-inclusive.




- US-bound short trips: $28.50/hour for US-bound trips under 350 miles, all-inclusive.
- Highway runs: $0.53 per mile, calculated using PC Miler Practical Miles Version 15 for qualifying loads exceeding a 100-mile radius from the terminal.
- Eligible East Coast routes: Additional $0.05 per mile for qualifying pickups and deliveries in NJ, MA, RI, CT, NH, VT, ME, DE, and PA. Both pickup and delivery must be in the listed states.
- Evening shifts: $26.00/hour for eligible shifts starting between 2:00 PM and 4:00 AM, subject to availability.
- Weekend shifts: $28.50/hour for eligible Saturday and Sunday shifts, subject to availability.
- Vacation: Two weeks.
- Safety road bonus: $0.02 per mile, paid quarterly to eligible drivers who meet the company's program requirements after three consecutive months in the program.

Additional compensation may be available for qualifying highway pickups and deliveries, yard hooks, customer hooks, customs clearance, layovers, resets, hand-bomb work, coils/straps, hazardous loads, heat, and reefer assignments, subject to company policies and dispatch approval.

Important: Compensation rates and additional allowances are subject to change. Hours, mileage, assignments, and applicable additional payments must be verified and approved by dispatch where required. Overtime eligibility depends on the applicable employment standards and compensation arrangement.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
