About ClearWorks

ClearWorks is an all-season commercial services company with major winter maintenance operations across Southern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area. During the winter we perform snow plowing, salting, and grounds maintenance for municipal, construction, and commercial sites. Our clients depend on their sites being open, protected, and presentable when the weather turns, and we take that seriously. Our growing team values reliability, attention to detail, and work you can be proud of.

The Role

As a Winter Plow Operator (Crew Lead), you'll run a two-person crew (you and one Operator) and be accountable for how that crew performs. You'll respond to callouts, assemble your team, keep the work compliant and high quality, and be the day-to-day contact for clients on site. You'll also be hands-on: plowing, salting, and clearing alongside your Operator, servicing numerous sites within your shift. In most cases the plow vehicle will live with you.

You'll report to our General Manager and operations team, and you're our eyes and ears in the field. We rely on you to flag what's working, what isn't, and what your crew needs.

Key Responsibilities

Leading the crew

- Respond to callouts promptly and assemble your crew for each event
- Ensure your Operator is on time, equipped, and working to standard
- Track and confirm your crew's hours are recorded accurately and submitted on time

Compliance, safety, and quality

- Complete and maintain required records, including log books and circle checks, and follow and reinforce safety procedures on every site
- Ensure your vehicle and equipment are fit for service before every shift, and report defects immediately
- Check the quality of work on every site and make sure it meets ClearWorks and client standards

Operating

- Operate plow trucks, salt spreader,

and related equipment (snow blowers, loaders, tractors, or skid steers as assigned) safely and skillfully on commercial sites
- Perform manual tasks including shovelling, walkway clearing, and salting
- Drive and care for your assigned vehicle and equipment

Communication and representation

- Act as the crew's point of contact with the client on site; the General Manager and executive team remain responsible for the commercial relationship and billing
- Submit or request major expenses (repairs, supplies, equipment) on behalf of your crew
- Report successes, concerns, and needs to the General Manager and Operations team
- Represent ClearWorks professionally with clients, site staff, and the public

Qualifications

Required

- Valid Ontario Class G licence in good standing and a clean driving record
- Previous snow plowing, winter driving, and snow removal experience on commercial sites
- 2+ years of experience leading a crew
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors for extended periods in cold, wet, and winter conditions
- Demonstrated reliability, with availability for callouts and long shifts throughout the season
- A cell phone with data
- Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset, especially with records, inspections, and quality checks
- Comfortable leading a small team and communicating clearly with clients and management

- Willing and able to keep the assigned vehicle at home and pick up your teammate on the way to site
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Nice to Have

- Familiarity with commercial vehicle compliance, such as log books, circle checks, and safety inspections
- Experience operating trucks, salters, and other heavy machinery
- Experience working on commercial sites such as construction, retail, or industrial properties
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to spot equipment issues early

What We Offer

- Competitive hourly pay: $27-33 per hour based on experience
- Paid hours for callouts and storm shifts
- Take-home vehicle, with fuel stipend
- Full seasonal work: November to April, weather dependent
- Real responsibility, clear expectations, and direct access to the General Manager and leadership team
- Opportunity to return in Spring/Summer/Fall season for full year employment, with mentorship and career growth planning
