Responsibilities & Duties

- Deliver engaging and effective IELTS instruction in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, following established curriculum and course pacing guides.
- Administer and score IELTS practice tests and assessments, providing accurate and timely evaluation of student performance.
- Monitor student understanding, identify areas requiring additional support, and adapt explanations and instructional approaches to meet student's personal learning needs.
- Provide clear and constructive feedback on student work, with particular attention to IELTS assessment criteria, test strategies, and areas for improvement.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive,



and positive classroom environment that promotes students' well-being, participation, and learning.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check is required, though the cost will be covered by Elite.
- At least 1 year of experience with comprehensive IELTS instruction, as well as exam formats and assessment criteria.
- Previous IELTS test-taking experience is an asset; high IELTS scores (8-9) are also an asset.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- A patient, professional, and growth-oriented approach to instruction.

Work Hours

This is a part-time position with 2-4 tutoring hours per week for one semester at a time. Classes are scheduled either once a week for 4 hours or twice for 2 hours. The specific date is negotiable.

Location

In-person at our Burnaby campus (4250 Kingsway, Burnaby).

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
