Venue Control Services is looking for an experienced door security professional / bouncer for a brewery in Port Moody.

This is a contracted, hospitality focused security position. We’re looking for someone who knows how to work a door, read a room, maintain a strong presence, and prevent problems before they become incidents.

Right now, the position is every Saturday, with the opportunity to move into Friday + Saturday shifts if you’re a strong fit.

Start Date: As soon as possible

What We’re Looking For:

We are specifically looking for experienced door security professionals with a Strong, Commanding Presence who are comfortable working busy licensed establishments.

You should be confident at the door, comfortable dealing with larger or intoxicated guests, and physically capable of safely assisting with removals or difficult situations when required.

We want someone who can hold their ground without being aggressive, professional, approachable, aware, and confident enough that their presence alone helps prevent problems.

Previous bouncer, nightclub, bar, pub, brewery, or high volume door security experience is strongly preferred.

What the Shift Looks Like:

For most of the night, your job is to stay visible, make rounds, and make sure guests and staff know security is present.

You’ll be moving throughout the brewery, checking washrooms, keeping an eye on the bar area, monitoring guest behaviour, and making sure the overall environment stays safe and enjoyable.

Responsibilities:





- Work the front door during peak entry periods
- Check government issued ID accurately and efficiently
- Help keep entry lines organized during busy periods
- Make sure guests waiting in line have ID ready before reaching the door
- Make regular rounds throughout the brewery
- Check washroom areas periodically
- Monitor the space around the bar
- Maintain a visible security presence throughout the night
- Watch guest behaviour and identify potential problems early
- Step in calmly and professionally when needed
- Support brewery staff when required
- Assist with removals when necessary and appropriate
- Help maintain a safe, comfortable, and positive workplace
- Follow standard security and incident-reporting procedures

This is not a role where you stand in one place all night.

Good security means being seen, staying aware, moving through the space, and preventing situations before they become problems.

Requirements

- Valid BC Security Worker Licence
- Previous bouncer / door security experience
- Strong ID checking experience
- Comfortable working in a licensed establishment
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
- Confident and professional presence
- Comfortable dealing with intoxicated or difficult guests




- Physically capable of safely handling the demands of the role
- Reliable and punctual
- Available Saturdays
- Legally authorized to work in Canada

Contract Details:

Position: Independent Sub Contractor
Schedule: Every Saturday
Potential Expansion: Friday + Saturday for the right person
Pay: $25–$30/hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and ability to handle the role independently

Before starting, successful candidates will be required to:

- Review and sign a VCS Contractor Agreement
- Agree to all duties, expectations, compensation, conduct standards, and site requirements
- Complete any required site orientation or training
- Follow VCS uniform and presentation standards

A VCS uniform will be provided for the position.

A refundable uniform deposit may be required before your first shift. The deposit will be returned once all VCS-issued uniform items are returned in good condition at the end of the assignment.
