Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly, assist with product selections, and provide expert advice on baked goods and cake decorating options
- Prepare, package, and display baked items with care and precision to ensure freshness and visual appeal
- Decorate cakes and pastries according to customer specifications or bakery standards, demonstrating creativity and technical skill in cake decorating
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, adhering to food safety and food handling regulations at all times
- Restock shelves with baked goods, ingredients, and packaging supplies to ensure availability throughout the shift
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as mixing ingredients, portioning dough or batter, and ensuring quality control during baking processes
- Support the team with general kitchen duties, including cleaning equipment, utensils, and workspaces to uphold high standards of hygiene
- Help to unload deliveries and organize stock in the freezers or coolers.





Skills

- Proven experience in cake decorating with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics
- Strong background in food preparation, baking, and cooking within a food industry setting
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations to ensure compliance and safety
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in food presentation
- Kitchen experience that includes food industry best practices for sanitation and organization
- Competence in packaging baked goods attractively for retail display or take-home orders
