Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based beverages, teas and specialty drinks while maintaining consistency, quality and presentation.
- Operate commercial espresso machines, coffee grinders and other cafe equipment efficiently and safely.
- Dial in espresso, adjust grind settings and demonstrate strong milk-steaming and latte-art skills.
- Provide friendly, professional and attentive customer service to create a welcoming cafe experience.
- Take customer orders, process payments accurately and operate the POS system.
- Keep the coffee bar, workstations, equipment and customer service areas clean, organized and presentable.
- Monitor stock levels, replenish ingredients and supplies and report shortages or wastage to management.
- Handle pastries and food items safely while following proper food handling, hygiene and sanitation procedures.
- Follow food safety requirements, allergen protocols and procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
- Assist with cafe opening and closing duties, including equipment setup, cleaning,



restocking and shutdown procedures.
- Maintain proper storage, rotation and labeling of ingredients and perishable products.
- Respond to customer questions, accommodate reasonable requests and communicate complaints or concerns professionally.
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain efficient service during busy periods.
- Follow all cafe policies, operational procedures and workplace safety standards.
- Report directly to the Cafe Manager and follow instructions regarding daily operations, service standards and assigned duties.
- Promptly inform the Cafe Manager of customer complaints, equipment malfunctions, inventory shortages, safety concerns or other operational issues.

Requirements

- Previous barista experience in a cafe or specialty coffee environment is required.
- Hands-on experience operating commercial espresso machines and grinders.
- Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, grind adjustment, milk steaming and beverage presentation.
- Ability to prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages consistently and efficiently.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork, time management and organizational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, professional and committed to maintaining high standards.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and proper food handling practices.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized and well-stocked workstation.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely perform routine cafe duties.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and a genuine passion for coffee and hospitality.

Pay: $18.25 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
