Business Analyst – Intermediate

Location: 81 Bay Street, 14th Floor, Toronto

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office (Wednesday is mandatory; the second day is flexible)

Duration: 6 months contract

About the Role A leading financial Institution is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join its Enterprise Programs team and support a major Procurement Transformation initiative called TPM 360. The successful candidate will work closely with program leads, project managers, procurement stakeholders, and technical teams to understand business needs, gather requirements, document user stories, and help deliver effective technology solutions. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering exposure to multiple enterprise projects, with potential for extension and future opportunities based on performance.

Responsibilities

- Work with business stakeholders to understand their needs and align technology solutions with business goals.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Lead stakeholder discussions and facilitate working sessions with cross-functional teams.
- Translate business requirements into explicit user stories and documentation for development teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and support project delivery.
- Work with technical teams to identify solutions and improve business processes.
- Support Quality Assurance (QA) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Maintain project documentation using tools such as Jira and Confluence.




- Manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting deadlines.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams.
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Manage challenging stakeholder conversations while maintaining positive working relationships.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required.
- An MBA or other relevant advanced degree is preferred.

Required Skills

- 5–7 years of Business Analyst experience.
- Experience in the banking or insurance industry.
- Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience leading stakeholder discussions and facilitating cross-functional working sessions.
- Strong experience gathering requirements and documenting user stories.
- Experience participating in Agile ceremonies.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Experience supporting QA and UAT activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage difficult stakeholders and handle challenging conversations professionally.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with third-party management processes, including sourcing, contracting, finance, and supplier management.
- Experience supporting procurement system implementations.
- MBA or another relevant advanced degree.
- Previous experience working with financial Institution.
