Makoose C Gamik Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Abuse Investigator to support the safety and well-being of children and families. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing referrals, investigating allegations of child abuse and neglect, documenting findings, and working collaboratively with families, community partners, and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities

- Receive, review, and assess child abuse investigation referrals.

- Conduct investigations into allegations of child abuse and neglect.

- Interview children, parents, caregivers, and other relevant individuals as appropriate.

- Identify potential child safety concerns and report urgent risks to the appropriate authorities.

- Complete investigation forms, case notes, and reports accurately and within required timelines.

- Maintain confidential and organized case files.

- Collaborate with community agencies, service providers, and other professionals.

- Provide culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and child-centred services.

- Follow organizational policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.

Qualifications





- Education or experience in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Human Services, or a related field.

- Experience working with children and families is an asset.

- Knowledge of child abuse, neglect, and child protection practices.

- Solid communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

- Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and maintain confidentiality.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Satisfactory background checks as required for the position.

- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation may be required.

Pay: $51,784.00-$74,650.00 per year
