Construction Foreperson - Future Assignments

About the opportunity:

BC Labour Service is building a roster of construction forepeople for future assignments across Burnaby, Vancouver, and Metro Vancouver.

We’re looking for supervisors who give explicit instructions, check progress, and deal with problems before they hold up the crew. Tell us which trades and project types you have supervised and the crew sizes you are comfortable leading.

We have not confirmed projects or start dates yet. Registering your interest does not guarantee employment or weekly hours. When suitable work becomes available, we’ll contact you to discuss the assignment, pay, schedule, and site requirements before you decide whether to accept.

What the work may involve:

Depending on the assignment, duties may include:

- Planning daily tasks with the site supervisor and checking labour, tools, and materials
- Assigning work within each worker’s training and explaining the required result
- Monitoring safety, workmanship, and progress and addressing problems promptly
- Coordinating with other crews and reporting changes, delays, or material shortages
- Keeping accurate time and progress records within your assigned authority

What we’re looking for:





- Relevant construction experience and previous responsibility for supervising workers
- Ability to understand drawings and the work sequence for the assigned scope
- Knowledge of supervisory safety responsibilities and willingness to act on hazards
- Clear communication, fair treatment of workers, and accurate record keeping
- Dependable attendance and ability to reach sites in your agreed service area

Tell us about your trade background, supervisory experience, crew sizes, and current safety training. Authority and responsibilities will be confirmed for each assignment. Expected hourly pay: $23–$45 for construction foreperson assignments, depending on your experience, crew size, and scope of responsibility. Specialised assignments may offer higher rates. Your pay rate will be confirmed before you accept each assignment.
