Construction Labourer - Future Assignments

About the opportunity:

BC Labour Service is building a roster of construction labourers for future assignments across Burnaby, Vancouver, and Metro Vancouver.

We’re looking for people who arrive when expected, follow instructions, and take care around the people working beside them. Construction experience is helpful, but we also welcome people who are willing to learn and ask questions when they’re unsure.

We have not confirmed projects or start dates yet. Registering your interest does not guarantee employment or weekly hours. When suitable work becomes available, we’ll contact you to discuss the assignment, pay, schedule, and site requirements before you decide whether to accept.

What the work may involve:

Depending on the assignment, duties may include:

- Moving and organizing construction materials using appropriate equipment and protected handling methods
- Helping unload deliveries and prepare work areas
- Keeping access routes clear and collecting ordinary site debris
- Assisting qualified tradespeople with tasks suited to your training and experience
- Using basic hand and power tools when trained and authorized
- Following site instructions, wearing required PPE, and reporting hazards or unfamiliar tasks

What we’re looking for:

- Dependable attendance and the ability to arrive on time for accepted shifts




- Ability to get to assigned job sites across your agreed service area
- Clear communication, including letting us know promptly about changes to your availability
- Ability to follow instructions and ask for clarification before starting unfamiliar work
- Ability to handle the physical demands of the assignment, which may include lifting, carrying, bending, and working outdoors
- A respectful approach to working with supervisors, tradespeople, and other labourers

Tell us about any safety training, trade experience, or current tickets you hold. Requirements will vary by assignment. Expected hourly pay: $23–$28 for general construction labour. Assignments requiring additional skills, certifications, or responsibilities may offer higher rates. Your pay rate will be confirmed before you accept each assignment.
