BC Labour Service is building a roster of construction safety officers for future assignments across Burnaby, Vancouver, and Metro Vancouver.
We’re looking for people who can recognize a problem, explain it clearly, and follow through on corrective action. The role involves spending time on site with workers as well as keeping accurate safety records.
We have not confirmed projects or start dates yet. Registering your interest does not guarantee employment or weekly hours. When suitable work becomes available, we’ll contact you to discuss the assignment, pay, schedule, and site requirements before you decide whether to accept.

- Supporting orientations, toolbox talks, and communication of safe work procedures
- Checking assigned safety documents and bringing gaps to the site supervisor’s attention
- Supporting incident reporting and investigations within your training and authority
- Following up with supervisors and escalating unresolved or immediate safety concerns
What we’re looking for:

- Practical knowledge of B.C. construction safety requirements for the assigned scope
- Ability to write clear reports and raise concerns respectfully and firmly
- Ability to use basic digital forms and keep accurate, organized records
