Mikaku Japanese Restaurant in Camrose, Alberta, is seeking a reliable and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking Japanese dishes, maintaining high standards of food quality, and supporting daily kitchen operations.

We are looking for an individual who has previous cooking experience, pays attention to detail, and works well in a team-oriented restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes and Japanese menu items.
- Inspect kitchen and food preparation areas to maintain food safety, sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques and safe food handling procedures.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas.
- Manage daily kitchen operations and organize food preparation activities.
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion sizes.
- Follow established recipes, restaurant procedures and food safety guidelines.
- Work cooperatively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Secondary (high)



school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant cooking experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge of Japanese cuisine is an asset.
- Experience working in a restaurant or commercial kitchen.
- Positive organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, responsible and able to take initiative.
- Availability to work mornings, days, evenings and weekends as scheduled.

Compensation and Employment Details
- Hourly wage: $18.00–$21.00, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Permanent, full-time employment.
- 30 to 40 working hours per week.
- Work must be performed on-site in Camrose, Alberta.
- Start date: As soon as possible, subject to any required work authorization.
