Position: Cost Accountant Location: Etobicoke, ON (Hybrid flexibility after onboarding) Industry: Food Manufacturing & Distribution Salary: $75-$85K – Hybrid Opportunity Our client, a well-established food manufacturing and distribution company, is seeking a motivated Cost Accountant to join their Finance team. Reporting to the Director of FP&A; , this is an excellent prospect for an early-career finance professional who is eager to develop their expertise in costing, pricing, and manufacturing finance. The role offers the chance to help rebuild and modernize the company's costing processes while working alongside an experienced analytics leader who is committed to mentoring and professional development.

While hybrid flexibility is available, regular on-site engagement and a willingness to leave your desk to solve problems on the production floor are essential. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve standard costing models, including labour rates, material costs, production overheads, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).



Calculate standard production costs using labour standards, material usage, production yields, and inventory data.

Prepare weekly and monthly variance analysis, identifying cost drivers and recommending corrective actions. Support budgeting, forecasting, inventory analysis, and operational reporting. Partner with production, operations, and supply chain teams to improve costing accuracy and business performance.

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 1-3 years of experience in costing, manufacturing accounting, FP&A;, or financial analysis. Manufacturing or food manufacturing experience is considered a strong asset.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) is preferred.

Advanced
