Duties
- Operate excavators safely and efficiently to dig trenches, foundations, and holes according to project specifications
- Assist with loading and unloading materials using excavators, loaders, and other heavy machinery
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate site activities and maintain smooth workflow
- Support other heavy equipment operations such as dozers, backhoes, graders, and pavers as needed
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and site safety procedures
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and maintenance needs
Skills
- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction environment with a strong understanding of heavy machinery functions
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and perform basic maintenance on equipment
- Ability to operate related machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers effectively
- Familiarity with horizontal drilling techniques and other specialized construction methods is a plus
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and protocols
- Excellent communication skills for teamwork and on-site coordination
