Rushton Gas & Oil Equipment (1991) Ltd. is seeking an experienced intermediate drafter/designer to join our team.

We are looking for someone with strong AutoCAD and CADWorx skills and practical experience preparing fabrication drawings for oil and gas equipment. The ideal candidate can handle day-to-day drafting independently, produce accurate shop-ready drawings, and work through more complex design details with support from our drafting lead and engineering team.

This position suits a strong intermediate drafter who is ready to take on greater responsibility and continue developing toward a senior role.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain 3D models using CADWorx Plant Professional.
- Prepare fabrication drawings for skid-mounted oil and gas equipment, piping assemblies, and pressure vessels.
- Produce general arrangements, piping plans, sections, elevations, and isometric drawings.
- Prepare accurate bills of materials and material takeoffs.
- Work closely with project managers, engineering, purchasing, QC, and shop personnel to resolve questions and ensure drawings meet project and fabrication requirements.
- Verify dimensions and equipment arrangements in the shop as required.
- Incorporate drawing revisions and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Check your work for accuracy, completeness,



and consistency before submitting it for review.

Qualifications

- Relevant drafting/design experience in oil and gas equipment fabrication.
- Strong working proficiency in AutoCAD and CADWorx Plant Professional, including 3D modelling.
- Experience taking drawings from initial layouts through detailed fabrication drawings.
- A practical understanding of piping components, equipment layouts, and fabrication methods.
- Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, CSA B51, and CSA B149.1 as they relate to the equipment being designed.
- Ability to manage assigned work, meet deadlines, and identify missing information early.
- Strong attention to detail and explicit communication skills.
- A diploma in engineering design and drafting technology, or equivalent relevant experience.
