First Aid Attendant - Future Assignments
BC Labour Service
Metro Vancouver, BC
About the opportunity:
BC Labour Service is building a roster of first aid attendants for future construction assignments across Burnaby, Vancouver, and Metro Vancouver.
We’re looking for attendants who respond calmly, know the limits of their certification, and keep accurate, confidential records. Assignments will be matched to the site’s first aid assessment and the level of certification required.
We have not confirmed projects or start dates yet. Registering your interest does not guarantee employment or weekly hours. When suitable work becomes available, we’ll contact you to discuss the assignment, pay, schedule, and site requirements before you decide whether to accept.
What the work may involve:
Depending on the assignment, duties may include:
- Checking assigned first aid supplies, facilities, communication, and emergency procedures
- Assessing and treating injuries or illness within your certification and training
- Arranging further medical help through the site emergency procedures when needed
- Completing treatment records and protecting personal medical information
- Remaining available for first aid coverage throughout the agreed shift
What we’re looking for:
- A current Intermediate or Advanced workplace first aid certificate accepted by WorkSafeBC
- Any transportation endorsement or additional qualifications required for the particular site
- Ability to communicate clearly and use sound judgment during an incident
- Careful record keeping and a respectful approach to injured workers
- Dependable attendance and ability to reach sites in your agreed service area
Tell us your certificate level, provider, expiry date, and construction first aid experience. Any additional duties must allow you to maintain the required first aid coverage. Expected hourly pay: $23–$36 for first aid assignments, depending on your certification level, experience, and site responsibilities. Specialised assignments may offer higher rates. Your pay rate will be confirmed before you accept each assignment.
