Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Forklift Operator with strong experience operating both sit-down counterbalance forklifts and reach trucks to join our warehouse team in Edmonton.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, stacking, picking, and organizing inventory in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position operates within a unionized work environment and requires a strong commitment to workplace safety, productivity, accuracy, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate sit-down counterbalance forklifts and reach trucks to move, stack, load, and unload warehouse inventory.
- Perform daily pre-operation equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately using forklifts and warehouse equipment.
- Build and verify pallet loads for shipment, ensuring accuracy and product stability.
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and complete transactions.
- Load and unload trailers while following established safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and complete required documentation.
- Assist with manual material handling and lifting when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet operational targets and productivity expectations.
- Follow company policies, workplace safety procedures, and applicable collective agreement provisions.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 2 years of experience operating both sit-down counterbalance forklifts and reach trucks.




- Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience, including order picking, stacking, and material handling.
- Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures and equipment inspections.
- Ability to perform physical duties, including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and basic math abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Previous 3PL warehousing experience is considered an asset.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Working Conditions

- Warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Occasional outdoor work may be required, including exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
- Regular use of forklifts, RF scanners, and other material-handling equipment.
- Overtime, weekend, or statutory holiday work may be required based on operational needs.
