We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Human Resources Generalist to join our team and drive our HR initiatives forward. This role is essential in fostering a positive workplace culture, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be energized by building strong relationships, streamlining HR processes, and supporting organizational growth through effective talent management.

You will serve as a key point of contact for employees and management alike, championing HR best practices across the company.

Duties

- Oversee employee engagement and administer recognition events
- Perform onboarding and offboarding of employees
- Enter new employee information into Quickbooks
- Coordinate and administer employee benefits programs, respond to concerns and provide information and education
- Lead recruitment activities across the organization and partner with hiring leaders to attract talent.
- Develop and maintain job postings and recruitment marketing materials
- Work with the team to maximize employment grant cycles, student placements, grant applications, implementation and reporting
- Utilise change management strategies to execute and implement new policies
- Work in conjunction with the Office Administrator to address health and safety needs, concerns and initiatives
- Execute WSIB reporting and follow-ups
- Conduct or arrange for safety/health related training; maintain records and data base of employee training, licenses, certifications
- Support staff in navigating HR systems in collaboration with team members




- Perform wage increase evaluations
- Consider and administer working hour requests using ConnectTeam
- Address employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy and employment law
- Maintain confidential employee files including employment contracts, social media contract, driver abstracts, 4 Step Health & Safety training certificates

Qualifications

- A post-secondary degree and/or diploma in Human Resources with at lease one year of experience
- Experience supporting multiple Human Resources functions such as employee relations, benefits administration, HR operations, employee engagement, health and safety, training or talent acquisition
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across a diverse HR portfolio
- Strong administrative, organizational and project coordination skills
- Exceptional communication and advanced interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and experience with Canadian employment standards, occupational health and safety and other related legislation
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving, planning, and communicating
- Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly with a large team of stakeholders with a service excellence standard
- Self-motivated with ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- A valid G driver's license in positive standing with a 3-year clean driving abstract
- Computer skills with proficiency
