Junior Estimator – Construction (Exterior Wall / Cladding)
We are a growing construction company specializing in exterior wall systems, cladding, and architectural metal work, and we are looking for a motivated Junior Estimator to join our team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career in construction estimating and gain hands-on experience working with drawings, specifications, and real projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Perform material takeoffs and quantity measurements for exterior wall assemblies
- Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates and bid proposals
- Request and review supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Organize project documents and maintain estimating records
- Work with the estimating and project management team during the bidding process
- Prepare Shop Drawings using AUTOCAD
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Solid attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Knowledge of construction materials and building assemblies (an asset)
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with estimating or takeoff softwares (an asset)
- 2 –3 years of experience in construction, estimating, or a related field
- Construction, engineering, or architectural background is preferred
