Is this the right Key Account Manager role for you?
TITLE: Senior Key Account Manager – (Bilingual EN/FR)
INDUSTRY: Supply Chain Automation / Parcel and Mail Sortation / Material Handling / Systems Integration / Machinery Manufacturing
SALARY and BONUS:
Base salary: $108,000–$150,000.
Annual incentive bonus: 50% of base, paid out annually.
OTE: $162,000–$225,000.
BENEFITS: Health, dental and vision. RRSP plus DPSP with employer contribution. Laptop and phone.
LOCATION: Canada-wide. Remote is fine, Quebec included. The GTA is a robust plus: it holds the densest customer base. Up to 50% travel across Canada, with trips to the US for training and the major trade shows.
THE NEEDS: A global automation leader is building its Canadian business from the ground up. There is one seat like this in the country, and it's yours. They need a seasoned, bilingual key account leader who can own the country's biggest parcel accounts and open new ones. This is not a quota-chasing desk job. It's a long game, played with a lot of money on the table.
DETAILS ON THE ROLE: You own a handful of named national accounts in express parcel. They include some of the largest parcel operators in Canada. That base brings in a few million a year in service agreements and steady project work. You also hunt: national carriers, 3PLs, warehousing, grocers and bottlers.
You report directly to the leader of the Canadian business. They joined this year to scale it, and they were once the buyer on one of the largest parcel hub projects in Canadian history. They know exactly what great selling looks like from the other side of the table.
Your day-to-day will look something like this:
- Walk warehouse floors with operations teams to understand their pain before anyone mentions a solution
- Build consulting scopes and change plans, then help the client write the RFP
- Quarterback engineering, legal, technical and delivery teams through 9–16 month pursuits
- Close transformational projects worth $10M–$50M, then grow the account through support agreements and upgrades
- Present to VPs and the C-suite in English and French
You are measured on order intake and account profitability. You have a deep bench behind you. You own the relationship. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU: A first-and-only seat in a country the company has decided to bet on. You won't inherit a mess. You'll help design the playbook. You get the backing of a global technology group with roughly 13,000 people. It owns its own sortation technology and integrates it end to end. Your deals are career-defining: one win can be the reference story for the next decade.
WHAT THEY NEED: Maturity, patience and the backbone to stay in a deal for 18 months. Things go wrong on projects this size.
They need someone who stays calm, solves it and keeps moving.
Specifically, they're looking for:
- 8+ years in enterprise B2B sales or key account management in automation, intralogistics, material handling or industrial technology
- A track record closing large, integrated, multi-million-dollar solution deals: sortation, AS/RS, conveyors, robotics, AMRs or the software that runs them
- Full professional fluency in French and English. You negotiate in both. Non-negotiable.
- Real comfort with the RFP process, ideally from the side that helps write it
- Credibility on the warehouse floor and in the boardroom, often on the same day
- An entrepreneurial self-starter who works independently and doesn't need hand-holding
- An engineering, business or supply chain degree is an asset. An MBA is a bonus.
