Job Overview
We are seeking a lively and compassionate Lunchtime Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will support students during their midday meal times by ensuring a safe, engaging, and positive setting. Your enthusiasm and caregiving skills will help promote social interaction and enjoyment among children with diverse needs, contributing to their overall well-being and development.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children during lunch periods, encouraging positive social interactions and good manners
- Assist with meal service and ensure proper hygiene and safety protocols are followed
- Support children with disabilities or special needs in eating and socializing activities
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area before, during, and after meals
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere where all children feel valued and supported
- Observe children’s behavior for any signs of distress or health concerns and report accordingly
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a smooth lunchtime experience for everyone
Skills
- Prior experience working with children in educational or caregiving settings
- Classroom experience or familiarity with early childhood education principles
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Strong teaching or caregiving skills that promote patience, understanding, and encouragement
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents
- Compassionate approach to supporting children's emotional and physical needs
