Metro Testing + Engineering is hiring new Materials Testing Technicians because we added more projects and clients into our service portfolio. You don't need relevant experience to be considered and we will provide required training.
Who we are:
Metro Testing + Engineering (Metro) was established in 1987 to provide the materials testing of concrete, asphalt, and soils for the construction industry. Since then, we have grown to include a diverse scope of services that now includes specialty testing, materials engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, concrete restoration, and quality assurance certification throughout BC and Alberta.
What you will be doing:
- Travelling to multiple construction sites to testing Concrete and Soil in and around the Victoria BC area.
- Preform filed tests following the industry standard protocols and procedures
- Troubleshooting real time compliance issues in the field and monitoring non-compliance protocols
What you will be getting:
- Hourly wage between $22-25/hr

Who we are looking for:
- Experience in working as a general labour at construction sites.
- Interest to learn about materials testing
- Previous experience with materials testing is an asset
- Post Secondary education in Civil Engineering is not required but an asset
- Valid BC driver’s license
- Ability to lift and control weights up to 16 kilos / 35 lbs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- computer literate
