Reporting to the Meat Department Manager, the Meat Department Clerk assists in garnishing, preparing, wrapping and merchandising raw meats, cleaning the meat department and works with others in a fast paced, family-type atmosphere to provide professional, inviting service to customers.

What You Bring to Our Team:

● Previous meat department or other food retail experience is an asset

● Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

● Sound knowledge of different types and cuts of meats

● Good knife and food preparation skills

● Ability to stand, lift heavy items and bend

● Excellent cleanliness and attention to detail





What You Get To Do:

● Provide courteous, friendly and efficient customer service

● Wrap and label products and stock meat cases

● Serve customers from our meat counter

● Produce signature meat products such as meat pies, sausages, hamburgers and ground beef

● Assist in unloading deliveries and check for accuracy and freshness

● Organize and ensure proper storage of inventory

● Create, maintain and rotate product display

● Sharpen or adjust knives

● Ensure impeccable cleanliness of the department

● Complete nightly closing duties

● Answer telephone calls and receive orders

● Follow and ensure government regulations, company policies and procedures

● Attend occasional staff meetings

● Other assigned duties as they may arise

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
