AMHERSTBURG BLOOD LAB, located at Amherstburg Health Care Centre, has openings for part time call-in Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Requirements and Qualifications

- Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician program or equivalent
- Collect quality blood samples and other specimens from patients using skillful venipuncture techniques
- Verify completeness and accuracy of OHIP documentation and associated paperwork
- Ensure all samples are properly identified, labelled, processed and prepared for transportation in accordance with laboratory protocols
- Perform ECGs and Holter hookups
- Create an ideal patient experience and maintain quality metrics.
- Ensure confidential information is protected in a secure manner at all times.




- Demonstrated skills in phlebotomy with the ability to manage anxious patients during the sample collection process.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Good computer skills and demonstrated ability to data enter information accurately and efficiently
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, self-manage and multi-task
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative team player
- Commitment to quality and excellence in patient care

STARTING AT $18.00/HOUR Job Types: Part time, Permanent

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 17.0 per week

Work Location: In person
