M365 Power Platform & Dynamics Workspace Engineer
Role Summary The M365 Power Platform & Dynamics Workspace Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and helping define enterprise governance for Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 environments as part of the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role ensures that Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Dynamics 365 workloads are delivered in a secure, scalable, and well‑architected manner that supports business transformation, automation, and AI‑enabled solutions.
You will own the end‑to‑end engineering lifecycle for Power Platform and Dynamics workspaces covering environment strategy, configuration, security, governance, and integration while partnering closely with M365 platform teams, business stakeholders, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Power Platform & Dynamics Workspace Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain Power Platform and Dynamics 365 environments across development, testing, and production tiers.
- Engineer Dynamics 365 workspaces (e.g., Sales, Customer Service, custom Dataverse‑backed solutions) with clear environment boundaries, capacity management, and lifecycle controls.
- Define and implement environmental strategies including naming standards, region placement, security group usage, and access models.
- Ensure Dataverse usage is intentional, cost‑aware, and aligned with approved business use cases.
- Automate environment management tasks using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and relevant admin connectors.
Platform Architecture & Integration
- Integrate Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365 services such as SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, and identity services.
- Support automation and workflow scenarios that span Power Automate, Dynamics 365, and M365 workloads.
- Partner with solution architects to ensure Dynamics and Power Platform designs align with enterprise architecture principles.
- Support Copilot‑adjacent and AI‑enabled scenarios by ensuring Dynamics and Dataverse environments are properly configured and governed.
Governance, Security & Compliance
- Define and assist with implementation of governance controls for Power Platform and Dynamics 365, including environment approvals, connector controls, DLP policies, and role‑based access.
- Ensure Dynamics workspaces comply with security, privacy, and data residency requirements.
- Support audit, risk, and compliance activities related to Dataverse, Dynamics applications, and integrated M365 services.
- Act as a subject matter expert for platform reviews, design assessments, and environment certification processes.
Lifecycle Management & Operational Readiness
- Own environment lifecycle activities including provisioning, upgrades, solution deployments, and decommissioning.
- Partner with operations teams to ensure Dynamics and Power Platform environments are production‑ready, monitored, and supportable.
- Troubleshoot complex platform issues spanning Power Platform, Dynamics 365, and M365 integrations.
- Contribute to documentation, engineering standards, and reusable patterns that enable consistent delivery.
Collaboration & Enablement
- Work closely with business teams, developers, and citizen makers to enable safe, scalable use of Power Platform and Dynamics.
- Provide technical guidance and guardrails to prevent platform sprawl while enabling innovation.
- Support onboarding of new Dynamics workloads and Power Platform solutions into the enterprise setting.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Microsoft cloud platform engineering, with hands‑on experience in Power Platform and/or Dynamics 365.
- Strong understanding of Dataverse architecture, security roles, capacity management, and environment strategy.
- Experience engineering enterprise‑scale Dynamics 365 environments and integrating them with M365 services.
- Knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, connectors, and workflow patterns.
- Strong understanding of identity, access control, and cloud security principles.
- Ability to operate in a regulated, enterprise environment with formal governance and lifecycle controls.
- Proficiency with PowerShell for automation, scripting, and environment operations across M365/Power Platform/Dynamics ecosystems.
- Experience working with Microsoft Graph API for resource management, governance enforcement, and integration workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Dynamics 365 workloads such as Sales, Customer Service, or custom Dataverse‑centric solutions.
- Exposure to Power Platform governance models or Center of Excellence (CoE) practices.
- Experience enabling AI or Copilot‑related scenarios across Power Platform or Dynamics.
