Zeppieri Noorani is a full-service boutique general practice law firm, located in North York, Toronto near Dufferin Street and Wilson Avenue. This is an In-Person Position. Applicants should reside in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area and be able to commute to the office on a regular basis.

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Law Graduate or NCA Candidate to launch their career within this dynamic field who thrive in a fast-paced, high volume work environment. This paid internship offers an exciting chance for students pursuing legal studies to gain hands-on experience in a professional legal environment. As a Legal Assistant, you will support various administrative and research tasks, contribute to legal drafting and document management, and assist with case preparation.

These are some of the areas you will gain experience; Civil Litigation, Estate Litigation, Corporate/Commercial, and Personal Injury Department, Small Claims Court etc. You will have direct client interaction, exposure to court proceedings and procedure, and opportunities to develop practical legal skills in a busy law firm environment.

Duties

- Assist with legal research using tools like LexisNexis to gather relevant case law, statutes, and legal articles
- Draft and prepare court documents, including Applications, Answers, Financial Statements, Affidavits, Motions, and other court materials.
- Draft legal documents including memos, briefs, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Proofread and review legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to formatting standards.
- Assist with tasks related to case files and deadlines to ensure timely completion of assignments.




- Support lawyers by preparing case summaries, organizing files, and maintaining case calendars.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within electronic filing systems.
- Conduct client intake or gather information as needed for case development.
- Manage filing systems both electronically and physically, ensuring confidentiality and easy retrieval of documents.
- Handle administrative duties such as phone etiquette, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence.

Skills

- Strong proofreading skills to ensure error-free legal documents
- Proficiency in legal research and case management platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently
- Effective interviewing techniques for gathering comprehensive information
- Experience with Clio or comparable document management software
- Solid research and writing skills for preparing summaries, memos, and legal drafts
- Ability to perform legal drafting tasks clearly and precisely
- Competence in data entry, filing, and maintaining organized records
- Professional phone etiquette combined with excellent communication skills

- Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience and education.
