Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and customer-focused individual to join our team for night shifts at Circle K. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating the cash register, maintaining store cleanliness, restocking merchandise, receiving deliveries, and completing all regular overnight store operations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

- Provide friendly, professional, and productive customer service to all customers.
- Operate the cash register and POS system accurately and handle cash, debit, and credit transactions.
- Restock shelves, coolers, refrigerators, and other merchandise displays.
- Bring products and supplies from the basement storage area to the upper floor for stocking and replenishment.
- Lift, carry, and move merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs (approximately 23 kg), following safe lifting procedures.
- Receive deliveries, verify products, organize inventory, and store items in their designated locations.
- Rotate products and check expiry dates to maintain product quality and freshness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including shelves, floors, counters, coolers, and storage areas.
- Clean and maintain washrooms, where applicable, according to store procedures.
- Replenish beverages, snacks, tobacco products, and other merchandise in accordance with store policies and applicable laws.
- Follow proper procedures for cash handling, shift reconciliation, and reporting discrepancies.
- Monitor the store for theft, suspicious activity, and safety hazards,



and report concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow age-verification procedures for restricted products, including tobacco and other regulated items, as applicable.
- Complete assigned cleaning, stocking, inventory, and overnight maintenance tasks within the required timeframe.
- Follow all company policies, health and safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and presentable store environment throughout the shift.
- Complete shift handover and communicate important updates to the incoming employee or supervisor.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by store management.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- English Language Requirement: Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English sufficiently to communicate with customers and coworkers, follow instructions, understand safety procedures, and complete work-related tasks.
- Must be dependable, punctual, honest, and responsible.
- Must be comfortable working independently during overnight hours.
- Must have good customer service, communication, and basic mathematical skills.
- Must be able to handle cash and use a point-of-sale (POS) system, or be willing to learn.
- Must be physically capable of performing regular stocking duties, including lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs (approximately 23 kg), with reasonable accommodation where required.




- Must be able to safely transport merchandise from the basement storage area to the upper floor using the store’s designated access route and safe handling procedures.
- Must be willing to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Must follow all store security, cleanliness, and workplace safety policies.
- Previous convenience store or retail experience is an asset but is not mandatory.

Minimum Employment Commitment
- Applicants must be willing to commit to at least one (1) year of employment.
- This requirement applies to both part-time and full-time positions.
- Applicants must demonstrate reliability, consistent attendance, and a willingness to maintain a stable work schedule.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, and stock merchandise as required.
- Ability to move merchandise and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs (approximately 23 kg), using proper lifting techniques and available equipment.
- Ability to move stock between the basement storage area and the upper-level sales floor safely.
- Ability to work in a retail environment that may include refrigerated areas, frequent customer interactions, and overnight security responsibilities.

Preferred Candidate The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable of completing stocking and cleaning duties, comfortable communicating in English, and committed to providing excellent customer service while maintaining a clean, safe, and fully stocked store. Note: All duties must be performed in accordance with company policies, applicable employment standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.

Pay: $17.95 per hour
