Registered Nurse Practitioner

BayWest Medical Centre is seeking a Registered Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, patient-centred care in a collaborative family medicine and urgent care environment.
Position responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic health conditions within the NP’s scope of practice
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans
- Prescribe medications and order appropriate diagnostic tests and investigations within the NP’s scope of practice
- Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education
- Provide ongoing management and follow-up for chronic diseases
- Perform clinical procedures as appropriate to training and scope of practice
- Assess and manage urgent and same-day medical concerns
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
- Provide appropriate referrals and follow-up when required
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse Practitioner in positive standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Current registration and authorization to practise as a Nurse Practitioner in Ontario
- Previous experience in family medicine, primary care, or urgent care is an asset
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and the healthcare team
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is an asset
