Part-Time Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

We are seeking a caring, reliable, and dedicated Part-Time Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our 3-5 program.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our educators to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports children's development and well-being.

We are looking for someone who is versatile, dependable, and comfortable working variable hours based on the Centre's operational and staffing needs.

Work Schedule & Availability

- This is a part-time position with expected working hours of less than 25 hours per week.
- Daily shifts are generally expected to range from approximately 2 to 5 hours.
- Shift lengths may occasionally be extended beyond 5 hours depending on the Centre's operational needs, staffing requirements, and employee availability.
- Scheduled hours and shift lengths may vary from week to week.
- Flexibility with scheduling and availability is preferred.
- Weekly hours are not guaranteed and will be determined based on the Centre's operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide a safe, caring, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
- Maintain active supervision of children at all times, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being.




- Support children's daily routines, including meals, toileting, transitions, rest periods, and outdoor activities.
- Maintain positive and professional communication with parents, guardians, and team members.
- Complete daily observations, documentation, and parent communication updates as required.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other educators and assist in different classrooms as needed.
- Follow the Centre's policies, procedures, and applicable childcare licensing requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate.
- Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR suitable for childcare settings.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a childcare environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing classroom and staffing needs.
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare setting is an asset.
