Plumber / Plumbing Project Lead – 4th Year or Journeyperson

Air Excellence HVAC Services Inc. is looking for an experienced 4th Year Apprentice or Journeyperson Plumber to join our team in a project leadership role.

This position will primarily support commercial, industrial and institutional plumbing projects, with a significant amount of out-of-town project work. The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of assigned plumbing projects, coordinate work in the field, work effectively with apprentices and other trades, and communicate closely with our Construction Manager.

Between plumbing projects, this position will also support our industrial service and project work, including work at Saskatchewan mine sites.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced plumber who wants more responsibility, enjoys running work in the field, and is comfortable working in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

- Lead and complete commercial and industrial plumbing projects.
- Review drawings, specifications and project requirements before and during construction.
- Plan daily field activities, materials, tools and manpower requirements.
- Coordinate and direct apprentices and other field personnel assigned to the project.
- Complete plumbing installations in accordance with applicable codes, specifications and company standards.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship, productivity and job-site organization.
- Identify project issues early and communicate material, labour, scheduling or scope concerns to the Construction Manager.
- Coordinate with general contractors, site representatives, other trades and Air Excellence management.
- Complete required field documentation, service reports, safety documentation and project records.




- Ensure company safety procedures and site-specific safety requirements are followed.
- Travel to out-of-town projects as required.
- Work at Saskatchewan mine sites and other industrial facilities projects when required.
- Assist with plumbing service, maintenance and other mechanical work when project workload requires.
- Represent Air Excellence professionally when dealing with customers, contractors and facility personnel.

Qualifications
- 4th Year Plumbing Apprentice or Journeyperson Plumber recognized in Saskatchewan.
- Commercial and/or industrial plumbing experience required.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for completing assigned projects.
- Experience leading projects, supervising apprentices or coordinating field work is an asset.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, piping installation, drawings and applicable codes.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and make practical field decisions.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in industrial and mine-site environments.
- Willing and able to travel and work out of town for extended periods when required.
- Valid driver's licence and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to meet customer and mine-site pre-access requirements.
- Strong commitment to safety, workmanship and professional conduct.





The Person We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who can be trusted with a project and take ownership of the result.

The right candidate will be able to look ahead, organize the work, communicate what is required, keep apprentices productive, identify problems before they become major issues, and maintain a professional relationship with the customer.

This position is well suited to a plumber who has developed strong field experience and is ready to take on increased responsibility while still remaining actively involved in the installation work.
