JARVIS Manufacturing

Calgary

Bring clarity to complex production. Build a team that delivers.

We want relentless people who are building a career, not shopping for their next job.

Ensteel Industries is a fast-moving team, and we rely on everyone being highly skilled and hardworking. We are hiring a Production Manager to lead our Calgary shop. You will own production execution and our shop team: turning approved jobs into achievable plans, keeping work moving and getting it out the door on time. We handle custom metal fabrication, welding, machining, forming and assembly, from single components to repeat production runs.

The role

This role combines daily production leadership with the chance to improve how work moves through the business. It is hands-on: you will work directly with inventory, cut lists, nesting and machine programs, not just the schedule. Working closely with ownership, engineering, sales and operations support, you will give shop employees what they need to succeed and keep visibility on every job from release through shipping readiness.

Sales stays responsible for customer communication; you supply the accurate schedule and progress information they rely on.

What you will do

- Plan production: Build and maintain the schedule, balancing delivery commitments, employee skills, equipment capacity and material availability.
- Get jobs ready: Confirm drawings, work instructions, materials and subcontract services are in place before work starts.
- Manage inventory and cut lists: Keep track of material on hand and prepare the cut lists operators work from.
- Be the lead technician for machine setup: Take parts, nest them,

load them into the machine interface and prepare the machine programs, then hand operators a job that is ready to run for the day.
- Lead the team: Assign work, set clear expectations, coach employees and address performance issues promptly and respectfully.
- Control production: Track progress, transparent bottlenecks and shift resources as priorities change.
- Protect quality and safety: Hold the standard for safe, quality work, especially under delivery pressure.
- Keep the data accurate: Make sure job progress, labour and material are recorded correctly in our production management system.
- Finish strong: Coordinate final checks, shipping readiness and the information needed for dispatch and invoicing.
- Improve how we work: Cut delays, rework and unnecessary handling in practical ways the team will adopt.

What you bring
- Experience leading people and production in fabrication, machining or a comparable manufacturing environment.
- The ability to read technical drawings and understand processes, sequencing and resource requirements.
- Hands-on skill with nesting, cut lists and machine programming, enough to set up work for operators.
- A track record of managing multiple jobs with competing deadlines and changing priorities.

- Results you can point to in production coordination, delivery performance or team effectiveness.
- Confidence coaching employees, managing performance and holding people accountable.
- Comfort with digital scheduling, job tracking and production reporting tools.
- A practical grasp of how labour, materials and rework drive job profitability.

Your background might be skilled trades, production supervision, manufacturing engineering or a mix. We care about the responsibilities you have held and the results you have delivered. You investigate problems and come back with workable solutions and clear recommendations. You take initiative within your role and bring in the right people when a decision affects wider business commitments. You earn credibility by listening to experienced employees, setting consistent expectations and addressing issues directly and respectfully.

What success looks like

Priorities are clear, employees know their responsibilities and every job starts with the information and resources it needs. Production issues surface early, delivery forecasts hold, and management has an accurate view of progress. Improvements are practical, the team adopts them, and they show up in day-to-day performance.
