Job Summary

ORIGNIX is looking for a detail-oriented Program Communications Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will turn complex technical work into clear, polished material that leaders and business areas can act on: presentation decks, briefing packs, meeting records and business-facing communications. You will work closely with the program's workstream leads and its change lead, and your work will help everyone understand what the program is delivering and what is needed from them.

This is an expert hands-on, full-time role, on site in Calgary.

Duties

- Build and update presentation decks, status material and briefing packs for steering committee, director and advisory forums, to the meeting schedule
- Turn technical and architecture discussions into plain-language material the business understands, and confirm it with subject-matter experts before it goes out
- Record governance meetings and keep minutes and action lists current
- Draft communications and readiness material for business areas and business continuity leads, in line with the program's change approach and with the client's approval
- Follow up actions and information requests with stakeholders through to closure
- Proofread and edit all materials for accuracy, clarity and consistency

Requirements

- Five or more years in program, project, PMO or internal communications on a large technology program
- Strong PowerPoint and Word skills, with executive decks you built yourself, including straightforward diagrams, without a graphics team
- Ability to sit in technical discussions and produce accurate, business-facing material from them

- Experience taking minutes and tracking actions for senior forums
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading
- Ability to manage several deadlines at once in a fast-paced environment, working to a meeting calendar set by others
- Located in Calgary and able to work on site most of the week; background and security screening is required

Nice to Have

- Experience on cybersecurity or IT programs
- Energy, utilities, chemical or another regulated industry
- Experience working alongside an organizational change management lead
- SharePoint and Microsoft Teams as everyday working tools

Application question(s):
- How many years of experience do you have in program, project, PMO or internal communications on a technology program?
- Have you prepared regular status reports or status decks yourself for an IT, cybersecurity or resilience program?
- Have you taken minutes and tracked actions for program or governance meetings?
- Describe one cybersecurity, resilience or IT topic you explained to a non-technical audience. Who was the audience, what did you produce, and was it your idea or were you asked to do it?
- In your own words, describe one cybersecurity, resilience or IT topic you explained to a non-technical audience. Who was the audience, what did you produce, and was it your idea or were you asked to do it? (2 or 3 sentences)
- Do you have a degree in communications, journalism, English, public relations, business or a related field?
- Have you worked in, or been embedded with, an IT or cybersecurity team?

Location:
- Calgary, AB (required)
