Responsibilities

- Monitor patients’ vital signs, consciousness levels, and overall condition during recovery periods
- Administer medications and pain management interventions as prescribed, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Assess patient responses to treatments and promptly address any complications or adverse reactions
- Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress using electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner
- Provide patient education on post-discharge care, medication usage, and recovery expectations




- Assist with laboratory procedures like phlebotomy when necessary and manage medical supplies efficiently

Experience

- Proven experience working in hospital settings with acute care responsibilities
- Prior nursing experience in recovery rooms or post-anesthesia care units (PACU) preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Epic or Cerner is highly desirable
- Robust background in pain management, case management, and patient care across diverse populations including pediatrics, seniors, dementia care, assisted living, and home care environments
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and laboratory procedures including phlebotomy
- Experience working with children or in nursing homes adds valuable insight into specialized patient needs
- Demonstrated ability to handle medical office tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient safety and confidentiality
