About Balto Capital

Balto Capital is a fast-growing private lending and real estate investment firm. As part of managing and growing our real estate portfolio in Edmonton, we are seeking a reliable and experienced Maintenance Technician to support ongoing maintenance, repairs, and new projects across our properties.

What You’ll Do

- Perform general maintenance and repairs across residential units and common areas, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and minor appliance repairs.
- Respond promptly and professionally to tenant maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues involving fixtures, doors, locks, cabinets, drains, toilets, and other building components.
- Conduct routine property inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address issues before they escalate.
- Prepare vacant units for new tenants, including repairs, touch-ups, and general turnover maintenance.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are required.
- Document completed work, track maintenance requests, and provide regular updates through property management software (Yardi).




- Respond to occasional emergency maintenance calls as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve building conditions, reduce recurring maintenance issues, and enhance tenant satisfaction.

Requirements

- Valid driver’s license and must have reliable transportation.
- Prior experience in maintenance and renovations
- Comfortable working independently
- Must be open to late-night calls and emergency situations
- No major outside commitments (the role is demanding and time-sensitive)
- Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
- Experience with residential and/or commercial plumbing (an asset)
