Shimoon Jewellers is a family-owned luxury jewellery store located in Dalhousie Station in Northwest Calgary. With a goldsmithing heritage spanning five generations and dating back to the early 1900s, we take pride in exceptional craftsmanship, personalized service, and attention to detail.

We specialize in custom-designed jewellery, fine gold jewellery, natural and lab-grown diamonds, precious gemstones, and professional jewellery repairs. Much of our work is performed in-house by our skilled goldsmiths, allowing us to provide clients with a truly personalized experience.

We are seeking a professional, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Jewellery Sales Associate who shares our passion for fine jewellery and exceptional customer service.

About the Position

As a Jewellery Sales Associate, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, comfortable, and memorable shopping experience for our clients.

Our approach to luxury jewellery is personal, approachable, and never high-pressure. We believe in building lasting relationships through exceptional service, honesty, and product knowledge.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative, works confidently with minimal supervision, and recognizes what needs to be done without constant direction.

Key Responsibilities

- Welcome clients and provide attentive, knowledgeable, and pressure-free customer service.
- Assist customers with fine jewellery purchases, custom design inquiries, and repair services.
- Follow established opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain an immaculate showroom, including jewellery displays, showcases, glass surfaces, and common areas.
- Merchandise, organize, and curate jewellery displays to maintain an attractive and luxurious presentation.
- Perform regular inventory cycle counts and assist with inventory management.
- Accurately process sales transactions and maintain customer records.
- Proactively identify and complete tasks during quieter periods, including cleaning, merchandising, inventory management, and showroom maintenance.
- Continuously develop knowledge of precious metals, diamonds, gemstones, and jewellery craftsmanship.
- Follow all company security, safety, and merchandise-handling procedures.

Qualifications & Expectations
- A genuine passion for fine jewellery, craftsmanship, diamonds, gemstones, and luxury retail.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada,



with valid authorization to work for the duration of employment.
- Currently residing in Calgary or the surrounding area, with the ability to reliably commute to our Dalhousie Station location.
- Strong command of the English language, with excellent verbal communication and reading comprehension skills necessary to confidently assist clients, explain jewellery products, and follow written procedures.
- A warm, approachable personality with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to recognize priorities, take initiative, and work effectively without constant supervision.
- Previous retail merchandising experience, including visual presentation, display arrangement, and product organization, is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining exceptional showroom standards.
- Professional presentation, a positive attitude, and a solid work ethic.
- Dependability, punctuality, honesty, and integrity.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small, close-knit team.
- Previous retail sales or customer service experience is preferred.
- Jewellery sales experience is an asset but not required. Training will be provided.
- Willingness to continually develop product knowledge through training and independent learning.
- Ability to follow established workplace safety, security, and inventory-handling procedures.

Due to the high-value nature of our merchandise and the responsibilities associated with handling valuable inventory, successful candidates will be required to complete a satisfactory criminal background check, conducted in accordance with applicable laws.





Employees must also comply with company workplace safety and fitness-for-duty policies, including expectations regarding impairment that could compromise workplace safety or performance.

Comprehensive training will be provided in security procedures, situational awareness, protected merchandise handling, and appropriate responses to potential security concerns.

Adherence to all established security protocols is a fundamental requirement of employment.

Location: Dalhousie Station, Northwest Calgary

Parking: Available on-site

Store Hours:

- Tuesday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Periodic Saturday availability is required. Specific working hours and scheduling arrangements will be discussed during the hiring process. Compensation & Benefits
