Join our team as a School Bus Monitor and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of students during their daily transportation. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will supervise students on the bus, assist with boarding and disembarking, and promote a positive riding experience. Your dedication will help foster a safe environment that encourages respectful behavior and supports students’ needs throughout their journey.
Duties
- Supervise students during bus rides, ensuring they follow safety rules and behave appropriately
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, especially those with special needs or disabilities
- Maintain a calm, friendly demeanor to promote a positive atmosphere onboard
- Monitor student conduct and address behavioral issues in accordance with school policies
- Communicate effectively with drivers, school staff, and parents regarding student safety or concerns
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the bus interior before and after routes
- Support students with caregiving needs, including helping them secure seat belts or assistive devices
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational, caregiving, or childcare settings
- Strong caregiving skills with patience and empathy for diverse student needs
- Classroom experience or familiarity with early childhood education principles is preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Ability to maintain a vigilant watch over students to ensure safety at all times
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with school personnel and families
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to creating a secure transportation environment for all students
