Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, providing friendly and skilled assistance throughout their shopping experience
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with precision and integrity, ensuring proper cash handling procedures
- Assist customers with product demos and answer questions about merchandise to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, stocking supplies as needed
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to maximize sales opportunities
- Support merchandising efforts by organizing displays and restocking shelves during slow periods
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting remote customers
Requirements
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus for leadership roles
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate cash handling and transactions
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities are highly valued
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for cash handling and sales processing
- Experience in grocery store or retail environments is advantageous
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Position will go until the end of December, with the option to potentially transfer to another department after the season is over We are looking for individuals who exemplify our core values
