We are currently searching for a Senior Electrical Designer with a minimum of 4+ years experience to join our office in Vancouver. BC. The candidate should be familiar with a variety of institutional, municipal, healthcare, commercial and residential building projects.

The candidate will be responsible for design, tender and construction phase services on various projects. We will be asking that you also participate in developing company policies. This would include developing design standards, project management development and quality control procedures.

Typical Functions of the role include:

- Lead electrical design on small to mid-scale building projects under the supervision of a professional engineer.
- Design electrical building systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and security systems.
- Prepare and revise electrical deliverables including but not limited to: drawings, site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and other design documentation throughout various project phases.
- Review engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates, to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and quality control requirements.
- Prepare specifications for submissions
- Lead and attend project coordination meetings, client meetings, and site visits as required.
- Coordinate all phases of project delivery, including conceptual design, detailed design, construction documentation, permitting, construction, and project closeout.
- Coordination with contractors, architects, and engineers to produce project requirements and designs;




- Consulting with other suppliers and contractors to clarify specifications;
- Review supplier and contractor submissions, shop drawings, and technical documentation for compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure that engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis, Class D Cost estimates) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices;
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, identify site constraints, and support the development of electrical designs.
- Conduct site reviews during construction and prepare field review reports and other required documentation.
- Support project managers with project coordination, technical deliverables;
- Preparation of specifications for electrical equipment;
- Mentor and assist electrical designers;

Qualifications

- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 4+ years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings including power distribution, lighting, life safety and communications in BC.
- Experience with tender document packages and production of drawings and specifications
- Experience with applicable codes and standards such as but not limited to CEC and BCBC, etc..
- Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, AGI32,
- Exemplary interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- P.Eng is an asset

Job Type: Full time Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
