Our client is an iconic Canadian multinational distributor looking to add to their team a Senior Financial Analyst for an initial term of 6 months . There is a robust chance for this role to either extend longer or convert to a full-time role . This is an in-office 2-3 days per week role .

As the Senior Financial Analyst , you will play a critical role in leading internal segment reporting, cost allocation, and performance analytics across business units. This role also supports period-end and year-end close processes, delivering insightful financial analysis and commentary to senior leadership, while preparing high-quality management reporting for key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting working papers.
- Research and interpret IFRS accounting standards and assess their impact on financial reporting and business operations.
- Draft technical accounting memos, IFRS position papers, and supporting documentation for complex accounting matters.
- Support the development, review, and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures in accordance with applicable IFRS requirements.
- Assist with the assessment and implementation of new accounting standards,



including IFRS 18, and evaluate their impact on financial statements and reporting processes.
- Prepare and review external financial reporting schedules, disclosures, and supporting documentation.

Qualifications:

- CPA [preferred designation, open to relevant experience without CPA] with 5+ years hands on experience
- Work on accounting/IFRS memos and accounting standards, etc.
- Experience in accounting policies and work on various IFRS sections including IFRS 18, etc.
- Retail/Distribution external reporting experience with advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power BI skills; SAP S/4HANA and SAP Fiori knowledge is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or relevant field
- Similar experience working for a mid to large-size company that has lots of monthly transactions
- Experience doing reconciliations, journal entries and accruals
- Hands on experience in supporting the month end, quarter end and year end accounting duties.
