Senior Microsoft BizTalk Consultant

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Microsoft BizTalk Consultant to support an ongoing EDI transformation initiative involving the migration to a new ERP and EDI platform using Boomi.

The consultant will assess the existing BizTalk configuration, determine the feasibility of implementing internal order-splitting logic, and recommend an approach that supports the phased migration of multiple processing locations. Depending on the assessment findings and existing project resources, the consultant may also be responsible for solution design, configuration, testing, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

This is an urgent engagement requiring a senior technical resource who can work independently, quickly assess the current environment, and provide practical recommendations and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and assess existing Microsoft BizTalk configurations, integrations, and EDI workflows.
- Analyze the feasibility of implementing internal split logic to separate orders by processing location.
- Assess integration requirements between the existing BizTalk environment and the new Boomi EDI platform.
- Identify technical dependencies, risks, constraints, and potential solutions.
- Collaborate with the Boomi implementation partner and internal project stakeholders to validate the proposed approach.
- Develop technical recommendations and an implementation roadmap.
- Where required, configure or enhance BizTalk integrations to support the target solution.
- Perform integration testing and validate order routing and processing.




- Troubleshoot integration issues and support resolution of technical blockers.
- Document existing configurations, solution designs, and implementation changes.
- Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to internal resources.

Requirements

- Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft BizTalk Server, including configuration, troubleshooting, and integration development or maintenance.
- Strong experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integrations and business-to-business data exchange.
- Experience assessing existing integration environments and recommending technical solutions.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications and working with complex data flows and transformation requirements.
- Ability to analyze integration requirements, identify technical constraints, and develop practical implementation plans.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver within tight project timelines.
- Experience producing technical documentation and transferring knowledge to internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Dell Boomi or other integration platform as a service (iPaaS)



solutions.
- Experience supporting EDI transformation or legacy integration modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity with ERP integrations and phased system migrations.
- Microsoft Azure integration experience.
