About Warm Welcome Design
Warm Welcome Design is a boutique interior design studio specializing in residential and commercial spaces. We believe great design balances creative vision with technical precision, thoughtful planning and a deep understanding of how spaces are built and experienced.
We're a collaborative studio where everyone brings unique strengths to the table. We value strong ideas, practical problem-solving, explicit communication and people who take genuine pride in their work.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Technical Designer (Revit) who loves the details, understands how buildings come together and takes pride in getting things right.
You'll play a key role in translating design concepts into accurate, coordinated and buildable construction documentation. Beyond producing drawings, you'll take ownership of their technical quality, proactively identifying challenges, resolving discrepancies and ensuring details have been thoroughly considered before reaching construction.
We're looking for someone who thinks ahead, works independently and gives the broader team confidence that the technical details are in capable hands.
This is an opportunity to become a trusted technical resource within our studio, contribute to a diverse range of projects and help shape how we deliver exceptional work.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Documentation & Revit
- Develop comprehensive construction drawing packages, including plans, elevations, sections, schedules and detailed assemblies.
- Create accurate and buildable millwork drawings, custom interior details and construction assemblies.
- Develop realistic 3D models and high-quality architectural visualizations using Revit and Enscape to effectively communicate design intent, materials and spatial relationships.
- Develop and manage custom Revit families, templates, schedules and model standards.
- Translate creative design intent into practical, technically sound solutions.
Technical Ownership & Quality Control
- Take ownership of the accuracy, completeness and coordination of assigned technical drawing packages.
- Independently review drawings, dimensions, details and specifications before issuance.
- Identify gaps, discrepancies and potential construction challenges before they become problems.
- Proactively research technical questions, develop solutions and escalate decisions when necessary.
- Help establish and maintain consistent drawing standards and quality-control processes across the studio.
Building Code & Construction
- Research and apply relevant Ontario Building Code requirements.
- Support the preparation of permit, tender and construction documentation.
- Coordinate technical requirements with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors and trades.
- Participate in site measurements, construction reviews and coordination meetings.
- Investigate site conditions and construction challenges, recommending practical solutions that maintain design intent.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with the creative designers to support projects from concept through construction.
- Serve as a trusted technical resource, providing guidance and helping resolve technical questions.
- Communicate clearly, flag concerns early and bring proposed solutions to the table.
- Identify opportunities to improve Revit workflows, documentation standards and studio efficiencies.
