The Unit Attendant supports the department by performing the tasks of stocking, restocking, cleaning, and portering of equipment, supplies, and patients. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.

Additional Required Qualifications:





Experience supporting MDRD operations through the unloading of mechanical washers and the transportation, pickup, and distribution of supplies to and from clinical units. Knowledge of the proper selection and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing MDRD-related tasks and handling contaminated medical devices. Understanding of safe work practices, quality assurance requirements, and infection control procedures within an MDRD workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with MDRD workflows, including the handling of contaminated and sterile medical devices in accordance with infection prevention and control standards. Previous experience working within a Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD), with knowledge of decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and sterile storage processes.
